Founded in 1975, the Children’s Book Press published cutting-edge picture books from and about multicultural communities. The nonprofit press was a pioneer in creating authentic titles that gave young readers a sense of their history, culture, and importance. In 2011 the press was acquired by Lee & Low, another multicultural children's book publisher. CBP books will continue to be available as an imprint of the company.
